especially for us down the stretch Antworten

GLENDALE, Ariz. - Headed for a last-place finish in the Western Conference, the Edmonton Oilers are enjoying the chance to play spoilers. Sam Gagner got the tying goal with 40.4 seconds to play in regulation, then scored the winner in the fourth round of the shootout to lift the Oilers to a 3-2 win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Friday night. "Its nice to get rewarded there," Gagner said of the tying goal. "You have to learn to find ways to win, especially for us down the stretch here." It was a tough loss for the Coyotes, who are vying for the last wild-card spot in the West. Phoenix moved one point ahead of ninth-place Dallas, but the Stars have two games in hand. "Its not about being so much the spoiler. Its fun to be a part of a game that means something," Oilers coach Dallas Eakins said. "Were playing teams that these games are huge for them and we understand. Its fun and its challenging to be in games that really mean something to the other team and I was very interested in how our guys were going to respond." Coyotes coach Dave Tippett compared the loss to an overtime playoff defeat. "The way we gave up the second goal, thats demoralizing, but its no time to hang your head," he said. Oilers defenceman Justin Schultz also scored and Ben Scrivens stopped 24 shots through overtime. Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored the tying goal for the Coyotes in the second period, and Kyle Chipchura put them ahead with 7:18 left in the third. Thomas Greiss also stopped 24 shots for Phoenix. Gagner scored on a deflection, backhanding the puck into the net after a shot from behind the goal by teammate Jordan Eberle to force overtime. Eberle had two assists. Schultz gave his team the early lead in the final minute of the first period. He took a centring pass from Eberle and fired a wrist shot that bounced on the ice and over Greiss outstretched glove hand. The offensive struggles continued for the Coyotes, who have three goals in the past four games, all losses with two overtime shootout defeats. "First period, I thought out execution was poor. Just couldnt get a handle on anything. Didnt pass the puck well," Tippett said. "Our intentions were good, we just couldnt get anything done. Right now we dont have a lot of that in our lineup, the pure execution at high speed." Just 13 seconds into the Coyotes first power play of the game, Ekman-Larsson held the puck for a bit, then shot high to the far corner and found the net with 5:28 left in the second period to even the score at 1-all. The goal ended the Coyotes scoring drought of more than 139 minutes. Greiss kept the Oilers from taking another lead, knocking away a quality shot from Eberle with 2:44 to play in the second. The Coyotes had a chance to add to their lead on a late third-period power play, but Mike Ribeiros shot hit the post. Scrivens went to the bench with a little over a minute to play to give the Oilers an extra attacker, and Edmonton took advantage with the late goal. "An unfortunate mixup, and we let a point slip away again," Chipchura said. The Coyotes lost in a shootout Tuesday to Winnipeg, another non-playoff team. A groundswell for raising the number of playoff qualifiers to seven in each conference figures to get plenty of support from the 32 owners. Most notably, Arizonas Bill Bidwill, who saw his Cardinals go 10-6 and not get in, while Green Bay (8-7-1) qualified by winning the NFC North. Matt Szczur Jersey . His absence against the Celtics comes a day after he scored 43 points in the Heats 100-96 win at Cleveland. http://www.padresrookiestore.com/Padres-...es-Kids-Jersey/. But when it was all over they had wasted another lead, seen another pitcher flame out on the mound and lost their fourth straight at home. Tony Gwynn Jersey .C. -- After a listless first half, the Washington Wizards used a big third quarter run to beat the Charlotte Bobcats Bradley Beal scored 21 points and the Wizards used a 17-0 run in the third quarter to take control of what had been a close game and beat the Bobcats 97-83 on Tuesday night. Wil Myers Jersey . - Justin Turner is at his best with runners in scoring position, and he delivered again in a big spot for the Los Angeles Dodgers.LONDON -- Arsenal held on with 10 men to draw 0-0 at Besiktas in the Champions League playoff round Tuesday, while Bayer Leverkusen is better placed to reach the group stage after winning 3-2 at FC Copenhagen. Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey was sent off with 10 minutes left in the first leg match in Istanbul after being shown a second yellow card for tugging Oguzhan Ozyakups shirt. "For me its unbelievable to get the second yellow card when you see the kind of fouls they have made today. Its not serious," Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said on Britains ITV television. The London club, which has played in every group stage since the 1998-99 season, still nearly grabbed a late winner when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlains shot was turned onto the post. The highest-scoring match of the night was in Denmark with Leverkusen holding the away goals advantage going into next Wednesdays home leg. The other matches saw Athletic Bilbao draw 1-1 at Napoli, Red Bull Salzburg beat Malmo 2-1 and Steaua Bucharest edge Ludogorets Razgrad 1-0. At the Ataturk Olympic Stadium, a familiar face nearly embarrassed Arsenal from the kickoff. Former Chelsea striker Demba Ba lobbed the ball from the halfway line and it was looping into the top corner until goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny pushed it onto the crossbar. With striker Olivier Giroud lacking cutting edge in front of goal and new signing Alexis Sanchez denied by Tolga Zengins save before halftime, Arsenal rarely looked like repeating its 3-0 victory across Istanbul against Fenerbahce in last years playoff round. Besiktas came closest in the second half when Olcay Sahan curled a shot wide after breaking into the box. Andd, after Ramseys red card, Besiktas coach Slaven Bilic also saw red in a heated conclusion on the touchline.dddddddddddd "Its one of the most physical games we have played in the Champions League," Wenger said. "We had the chance to win the game, but unfortunately we couldnt do it." Next week at the Emirates, although Ramsey will be suspended, Wenger is set to deploy German World Cup-winning trio Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski again after their break. "They will be without Ramsey who for me is the top man in the team," Bilic said. "We are still alive and we go to the Emirates with even more confidence ... we have a plan we have a dream." In Copenhagen, Stefan Kiessling took just five minutes to put Leverkusen in front, but the hosts hit back with Mathias Jorgensen nodding in an equalizer from a corner and Daniel Amartey heading them in front in the 13th minute. Parity was restored in the 31st when Karim Bellarabi knocked the ball into the net and Son Heung-min secured Leverkusens valuable away win just before half time after meeting Hakan Calhanoglus throughball. In Austria, goals from Franz Schiemer and Jonatan Soriano looked to have given Salzburg a clear cushion going into the second leg until Emil Forsberg pulled one back for Malmo in the 90th minute. Iker Muniains away goal could also prove decisive for Bilbao even though Gonzalo Higuain ensured Napoli drew 1-1 at home. The only goal of the night in Romania took until the 88th minute to come, with Alexandru Chipciu, who had already missed a penalty, striking into the net this time for Steaua against Ludogorets of Bulgaria.
