The BC Lions announced on Thursday that national special teams ace Jason Arakgi has agreed to a two-year contract extension and offensive lineman Cam Thorn has signed a three-year deal. Aragki appeared in all 18 regular season games with the Lions. He was the club’s third-round selection in 2008. This past season, Aragki notched a team-high 23 special teams tackles and broke the club’s all-time record held by Sean Millington (140), now sitting with 158 in his career. No CFL player in the last seven seasons has more special teams tackles than Arakgi, who has not gone a season with fewer than 14. Thorn, the Lions’ seventh-round pick in 2013, played in all of the regular season games in his rookie year.
