LONDON, Ont. -- Edgars Kulda and Luke Bertolucci each scored twice to lift the Edmonton Oil Kings to a 5-2 win over the London Knights at the Memorial Cup on Sunday. Playing their second game in as many nights, the Western Hockey League champions improved to 1-1 in the tournament. Reid Petryk also scored for the Oil Kings. Kulda had an assist for a three-point game. Alex Basso and Dakota Mermis scored Londons first goals of the tournament, but the host Knights remained winless after two games. London needs a win over the Ontario Hockey Leagues Guelph Storm in the final round-robin game Wednesday or the host team will be eliminated from Cup contention. Knights are 0-for-2 on penalty shots in the tournament. Edmontons Tristan Jarry stopped Ryan Rupert in the first period and made 38 saves overall in the win. London goalie Anthony Stolarz gave up three goals on 27 shots and was replaced after two periods by Jake Patterson, who made 11 saves. The Storm and Quebec Major Junior Hockey Leagues Val-dOr Foreurs meet Monday in a battle of 1-0 teams. The team with the best round-robin record gets a bye to Sundays final. The clubs finishing second and third meet in Fridays semifinal. A tie for third means a tiebreaker game Thursday. The Knights opened with a loss to Val-dOr despite outshooting the Foreurs 51-28. Edmonton fell 5-2 to the Storm on Saturday night. London was one of three OHL teams to score over 300 goals during the regular season. The Knights were eliminated by the Storm on April 11 in the second round of playoffs and are slow to recover their scoring touch. Rupert was hauled down on a breakaway late in the first period by Edmonton defenceman Ashton Sautner. Jarry squeezed his pads together to foil Ruperts five-hole attempt. Val-dOr goalie Antoine Bibeau stopped Londons Bo Horvat on a penalty shot in the third period in the tournament-opener. Bertolucci scored Edmontons first power-play goal of the tournament at 18:23 of the third period when Knights right-winger Michael McCarron was in the penalty box for punching Mitchel Moroz. London scored on a delayed penalty at 9:27 in the third to pull within two goals. Max Domi buzzed around the offensive zone with the puck to get an extra attacker on the ice before shooting. Mermis batted in the rebound in a goal-mouth scramble. Kulda collected his own rebound and banked the puck off a sprawling Stolarz at 18:04 of the second period for the Latvians second goal of the game. Basso pulled the Knights within a goal at 16:12. The defenceman had a clear shooting lane at Jarry, who got a piece of Bassos blast, but the puck bobbled over his glove and in. Kulda gave the visitors a 2-0 lead at 6:05 of the second period. The left-winger rushed the puck out of the neutral zone, cut left across the top of the faceoff circles and beat Stolarz with a wrist shot on the goalies stick side. The Knights killed off Edmontons two-man advantage in the first period, but Petryk struck at 9:42 just seconds after the second minor expired. Kulda teed the puck up for Petryk in the high slot and the overage forward beat Stolarz top shelf. Saquon Barkley Giants Jersey . Five straight losses (and six in the past seven) now dot the schedule – matching their longest skid of the year – after they fell again in New Jersey on Sunday night, topped 3-2 by Cory Schneider and the Devils. New York Giants Jerseys . At times during a solid but not spectacular season, they looked all three. Still the defending AFC champions persevered, riding their top-ranked defence and key contributions from younger players to a 12-4 record and their eighth playoff appearance since 2000, remarkable consistency in a league where change is the only constant. http://www.nygiantsfanatic.com/c-80-gian...xon-jersey.aspx. - The Chicago Bears have agreed to a one-year contract with free-agent centre Brian de la Puente. Will Hernandez Jersey . Prado stuck his glove down with Colorados Charlie Blackmon sliding into the bag, and quickly jumped back in pain after applying the tag. Prado held his left wrist as trainers came out of the Diamondbacks dugout to check him. Kareem Martin Jersey .com) - The Winnipeg Jets got over one hurdle by snapping their longest losing streak of the season.MILWAUKEE -- While the Brewers booted Wilin Rosarios liner and made poor throws all over the field, the Colorado Rockies just kept running. Two errors later, Rosario was right back where he started -- though it took him a couple seconds to get up while catching his breath following a slide into home plate. Colorado scored three runs during that wild fifth-inning sequence and pounded starter Yovani Gallardo to avoid a season sweep to the Brewers with a 10-4 victory Sunday. "Yeah, its a home run, thats a home run for Rosario," manager Walt Weiss said. "One of the turning points if not the turning point of the game." Rosario took advantage of the gaffes with runners on first and second. His shot to third was booted by normally sure-handed third baseman Aramis Ramirez. "No excuses. I should have made that play," Ramirez said. One run had already scored when the ball squirted into foul territory. Shortstop Jeff Bianchi then threw home high and offline trying to get Corey Dickerson. Good thing Dickerson actually didnt heed third-base coach Stu Coles advice to stay put. "But I kind of noticed (Bianchi) was pretty far away to be able to make the throw, so I took off and slid," Dickerson said. "Thats when I got the strawberry (on his left leg), so I really didnt pay attention after that. So I really didnt know what happened behind me." That would be the 220-pound Rosario chugging home safely for a six-run lead after catcher Jonathan Lucroy threw errantly attempting to get Rosario at third. Wearing dark sunglasses, Brewers manager Ron Roenicke watched calmly in the dugout with arms crossed what he later called the "meltdown." The Rockies pounced on a team that looked a little tired after wrapping up a stretch of 20 games in 20 days, though Roenicke wasnt sure if fatigue may have played a role in the field in the fifth. "You can have those plays any time," Roenicke said. "You get down when you see it, so its hard to bounce back after a play like that." Jorge De La Rosa (8-6) got the win despitee allowing three wild pitches and hitting one batter.dddddddddddd. Gallardo (5-5) was tagged for 10 hits in five innings. The Rockies had jumped on Gallardo for a 5-0 lead through three innings -- quite an accomplishment after the right-hander had allowed just three in his previous four starts combined. Colorado snapped a six-game slide to Milwaukee in the clubs last meeting of the regular season. Ryan Braun slugged an opposite-field solo shot into the Rockies bullpen in right for his 11th homer of the year. Braun also doubled in the sixth and scored on one of two wild pitches by De La Rosa in the inning. "Those wild pitches I (made), that cost some runs, De La Rosa said. "But the most important thing, we win." Khris Davis RBI groundout later in the sixth made it 8-4 when Ramirez scored following a steal of third. Ramirez, 36, stole two bases in a game for the first time in his 17-year career. It could have been much closer if not for the Milwaukee miscues in the fifth that had the National Leagues best team resembling a Little League outfit. As for Colorado, maybe this victory will snap the team out of a June funk. The Rockies had lost four straight entering Sunday, as well as 11 of 12. De La Rosa allowed four hits, two walks and four runs in six innings. NOTES: Dickerson said he would be fine after leaving with a left hamstring cramp following a 1-1 count in the eighth after fouling off a pitch. ... The Rockies want 3B Nolan Arenado to get about 25 at-bats in a rehab assignment with Triple-A Colorado Springs before returning to the lineup. Arenado has been on the disabled list since May 24 after breaking his left middle finger on a head-first slide into second in Atlanta. He started the rehab assignment Saturday. ... Roenicke hoped to get OF Carlos Gomez (neck strain) and SS Jean Segura (left quad) back for the start of a two-day interleague series Tuesday at Toronto. RH Marco Estrada (7-4) is scheduled to get the start. ... LHP Yohan Flande (0-0) will make his second career start when Colorado opens a three-game series Monday in Washington.
