MILWAUKEE -- Craig Counsell knows the Milwaukee Brewers are close to snapping out of their recent funk but when youre playing some of the better teams in the league, close is hardly enough. Each loss during Milwaukees current six-game losing streak has come by three runs or less with three of them settled by a one-run margin, including the last two to St. Louis. We were a play away a bunch of these games during the losing streak, said Counsell, the Brewers manager. But you have to make those plays.Starting pitching has been a strong suit for Milwaukee during its skid and the Brewers will hope Matt Garza will be able to keep things going Wednesday night when he takes the mound in series finale with the Cardinals at Miller Park.Garza was the victim of bad luck his last time out. He cruised through five scoreless innings before a pair of Jonathan Villar errors led to a five-run outburst by the Pirates, capped off by a grand slam from Jody Mercer. He allowed five hits and three walks in that contest, but struck out a season-high nine batters. The first time thought the lineup was as good as Ive seen since Ive been in the dugout, Counsell said. He was really crisp, his off-speed stuff was outstanding. It was swing-and-miss stuff. The Cardinals have been anything but kind to Garza during his 11-year career. Hes made 13 starts against St. Louis, going 4-5 with a 4.25 ERA.Hes faced them once this season, allowing seven runs (only four earned) over 5 2/3 innings of a 7-1 loss July 1 at Busch Stadium.St. Louis, which improved to 31-13 against the Brewers in Milwaukee under manager Mike Matheny, will try to polish off a sweep behind right-hander Luke Weaver.Weaver earned his first major league victory in his last start, holding the As to a run on four hits. The key to Weavers success against Oakland was drawing contact. He got eight outs on the ground with just two fly balls -- one of them a home run by Yonder Alonso. If youre not going to strike them out, obviously try and get the ground ball, said Weaver, who struck out seven Oakland batters and has 16 in 15 innings of work since being called up. The fly balls sometimes will keep going like you saw tonight. I know they stress it in the minor leagues and its a big part of getting those double plays and eliminating the sac flies and all those types of things.Hell be facing Milwaukee for the first time in his career.Hes asking all the right questions still, Matheny said. Hes learning and hes improving and hes got a great repertoire to work with, very creative. With all the ground balls he got, thats a good sign that hes trusting his stuff. Wesley Walker Jersey . Tracey comes to the Blue Bombers after spending over a decade with Queens University. Most recently he was the schools assistant football coach. Curtis Martin Jersey . The 18th player to shoot 60 on the tour, Jamieson settled for par on the final hole when his 15-foot birdie chip grazed the edge of the hole and stayed out. After opening with rounds of 66 and 73 to make the cut by a stroke, he had 11 birdies in the bogey-free round. http://www.cheapnewyorkjetsjerseysauthentic.com/?tag=authentic-mark-gastineau-jersey . "Four now," Carl Gunnarsson told the Leaf Report proudly following a 5-2 victory over New York on Tuesday night, the clubs fifth straight at home. Cheap Jets Jerseys . Carey Price didnt, but he still came out on top against one of his rivals for the No. 1 job at the Sochi Games. The Anahim Lake, B.C., native was stellar in making 39 saves in his home province and Lars Eller got credit for a bizarre short-handed winner as the Canadiens defeated the Canucks 4-1. Wayne Chrebet Jersey . The Olympic champion curler and TSN curling analyst immediately went online to look at the Halls long list of honoured members. Thats when the enormity of the honour sunk in. Mudassar Nazar The first entrant to the 199 club came after 995 Tests in a rather uninteresting match: the Test ended with Pakistan yet to finish their first innings. In reply to Indias 500 all out, the hosts piled on 674 for 6. Nazar, who opened the innings, was caught behind off Shivlal Yadav; his team-mate Qasim Umar scored 210.Mohammad Azharuddin Another drawn Test in which the side batting second did not complete its first innings. This time India put on 676 for 7, after bowling out Sri Lanka for 420, the only Test innings in which three batsmen scored 150-plus scores without getting a double-century. Sunil Gavaskar got his final Test hundred, his 34th - Sachin Tendulkar broke that mark nearly 19 years later - while Kapil Dev and Azharuddin got their Test bests. Unfortunately for Azharuddin, he never got past 199 - he scored a 192 too - in his 22 Test hundreds, making him the batsman with most Test hundreds without scoring a double.Matthew Elliott The next 199 took a while, and it was the turn of Australian top-order batsman Elliott. Like Azharuddin, the 199 remained the highest of his career. Its the only 199 in an Ashes Test.Sanath Jayasuriya Wonder if Jayasuriya would have been too disappointed to be dismissed on 199: he came into the Test having already smashed 340 in the previous one. His 199 came off 226 balls - he was in contention to break the then record for the fastest double, off 220 balls by Ian Botham - and he is the only batsman to be dismissed on that score in a teams second innings.Steve WaughA Test more famous for Brian Laras heroics also had Steve Waugh scoring a 199 against an attack that had Curtly Ambrose and Courtney Walsh. Waughs only double-century - an even 200 - came against the same opposition in 1995, in a famous win that ended the era of West Indies dominance.Andy Flower The first batsman to be unbeaten on 199 in a Test innings. Andy Flower had already made a 142 as Zimbabwe slumped to 286 all out in reply to South Africas 600 for 3 declared, and he outdid it in the follow-on. He was able to make South Africa bat again, but he did not get enough support to put up a competitive total, and to get his double-hundred. Flower had one double in his Test carreer, which came before his 199 not out.ddddddddddddYounis KhanYounis Khans first double-century had come in his previous Test against India the previous year, and he looked set to get his second in succession. On a flat track, there was not much hope for the bowlers - there were six hundreds in the Test, and four in Pakistans innings - but Younis managed to get run out on 199, the only one to do so. When Younis went past 199 again, in 2009, he scored 313.Ian BellWhile Younis was the only to be run out, Bell remains the only one to be out caught and bowled. Coincidentally, his and Younis 199 required the same number of deliveries. Bell was dismissed trying to play a booming drive off left-arm spinner Paul Harris, only to end up caught by the bowler. Bell got his maiden Test double three years later.Kumar SangakkaraSangakkara ended up stranded on 199 like Flower. During the innings, Sangakkara thought he had got to his double-hundred with a six: he celebrated before it was pointed out that the scoreboard on the ground was showing an extra run. That run was not to be, and his partner at the other end was dismissed in the next over. Sangakkara had the most double-centuries (eight) before getting a 199, and like Younis he got a triple ton the next time he went past 199.Steven Smith Smith missed out on a maiden first-class double-century after being beaten by a superb inswinging yorker by West Indies Jerome Taylor. But he got there a month later, with a 215 against England, becoming the first Australian in 77 years to score a double at Lords.KL Rahul On a flat pitch in Chennai, Rahul got into the 190s with a six off Moeen Ali. Minutes later his innings ended in heartbreak, with an innocuous delivery from Adil Rashid lobbed straight to point. Going by Rahuls t
