Jim Johnson worked the ninth for his AL Antworten

Kent 379 and 32 for 0 trail Derbyshire 574 for 9 dec (Madsen 163, Thakor 123, Hughes 83, Rutherford 65) by 163 runsScorecard There was little evidence at Canterbury to support the notion that Kent are vigorous promotion candidates despite their lofty position in the table. Derbyshire, without a win all season, drank their fill on a benign pitch against a threadbare attack before calling off their first innings with a lead of 195 and the last pair at the crease.Wayne Madsen and Shiv Thakor took hundreds off Kent in the corresponding fixture in Derby in May, and did so again, a feat thought by David Griffin, former Board member, freelance photographer and statistician, to be unique in Derbyshires history. They were a watchable combination: Madsen neat and orderly for his 163, Thakor displaying nimble footwork and wristy ambition as he contributed 123. Their stand of 144 in 37 overs dominated the third day.Whether Derbyshire will force victory, though, is highly dubious. Their declaration came with only 15 overs left in the day, hardly enterprising with rain forecast for the final afternoon. Kents pace bowler Mitch Claydon, fielding at third man, was heard to ask: 163 overs! I dont think Ive ever fielder for 163 overs. Why? Such are the philosophical questions that concern fast bowlers with 30 overs next to their name.Derbyshire are expected be a bowler light after Will Davis broke down in the first innings with a recurrence of a hip injury. In fading light, Kent saw out the final hour without alarm.Madsen, whose innings ended when he played across one from Matt Hunn, has 22 Derbyshire hundreds now, a number beaten by only four players - Kim Barnett, now the countys president; the casually talented John Morris; the New Zealander John Wright, a batsman of ungainly defiance; and the dapper South African, Peter Kirsten.Only Kirsten has scored his hundreds at a faster rate than Madsens one every 9.2 innings, although four-day cricket has had an influence on that, not forgetting the lack of world-class fast bowlers these days, especially in Division Two. Kent did little to challenge that notion.Thakors switch from Leicestershire to Derbyshire at the end of 2014 felt a bit of a sideways move, and his form last season was unspectacular. At 22, he has progressed this summer. This was his fourth Championship century and it was fun to watch, with all manner of little flourishes going on after he has played the shot.Seventy-five of his runs came off the spinners, James Tredwell and Joe Denly, both of them treated as a convenience, his hundred raised when he struck Tredwell for a straight six. He was dropped by Alex Blake at extra cover and long-off, soon after his hundred, in successive overs off Darren Stevens and Tredwell, eventually succumbing when he chipped to mid-on.The absence of one Kent pace bowler has already been remarked upon. Up on the dressing room balcony, as the players came off for tea, Matt Coles offered desultory applause and failed to stifle a sizeable yawn. Under scrutiny because of his drink-fuelled antics in Cardiff last week, he had a ponderous training session over lunch, and later sat on an exercise bike, but it did not endear him to every member. Look at the size of him, said one.Coles career is at a critical point and it would be regrettable if his issues are not seriously addressed by all parties, beginning with himself, because he is a good and entertaining cricketer. Tom Brady Jersey . -- Anaheim Ducks captain and leading scorer Ryan Getzlaf has been scratched from Sunday nights game against the Vancouver Canucks because of an upper-body injury. Steve Grogan Womens Jersey . - Chris Tierney snapped a tie with a power-play goal late in the third period as the London Knights rallied from a 3-0 deficit to beat the Erie Otters 5-3 in Ontario Hockey League action on Wednesday. https://www.patriotssportsgoods.com/Womens-Drew-Bledsoe-Inverted-Jersey/ . Their experience showed Tuesday as the No. 10 Badgers blunted a Saint Louis surge to win 63-57 and advance to face West Virginia in Wednesdays finals of the Cancun Challenge. Jarrett Stidham Jersey . The CFLs leading rusher kept adding to his gaudy numbers this season and scored the winning touchdown with just over two minutes to play. The New Westminster, B.C., native plowed three yards into the end zone for the last score of a heated, see-saw battle between the two teams with the best records in the CFL. Jarrett Stidham Youth Jersey . Jason Zucker and Matt Cooke also scored for Minnesota, which has won five of six. Kuemper made five saves in the first, nine in the second, and nine in the third. The rookies best save came with 2:17 left in the third period when he denied former Wild forward Matt Cullen from just outside of the crease on the right side. BALTIMORE -- The vast change in the Baltimore Orioles over the past couple of years can be measured by their success against the Boston Red Sox, even when their AL East rivals send Jon Lester to the mound. Chris Davis hit his major league-leading 23rd home run, Nick Markakis had four hits and scored three runs, and Baltimore beat Lester and the Red Sox 6-3 Sunday. Manny Machado extended his hitting streak to a career-high 14 games and drove in a run for the Orioles, who took three of four from first-place Boston to move within 1 1/2 games of the division lead. Baltimore has won six straight series over the Red Sox, dating to last year. Before going 13-5 against Boston in 2012, the Orioles hadnt taken a season series from the Red Sox since 2004. The metamorphosis is even more apparent when gauging their performance against Lester. Prior to last September, when the Orioles charged into the playoffs for the first time since 1997, Baltimore was 0-14 against the Boston right-hander. They beat him on Sept. 21, and Sunday they tagged him for five runs in five innings. "Obviously we have a different group here," said Davis, who was 0 for 14 lifetime against Lester before ripping a 3-1 pitch in the third inning for a two-run homer that put Baltimore up 3-0. After striking out in the first inning, Davis took action. "Went in there and looked at some video just to get an idea of what hed been doing to me in the past," he said. "I know I hadnt had a lot of success. If you give him both sides of the plate and try to hit all those pitches you make it tough on yourself. I was able to get ahead of him and get a good pitch to drive." It was his 100th career homer and seventh in the last 10 games against Boston. Davis also doubled in a run in the fifth against Lester, sending the Orioles on their way to their 14th win in 19 games against the Red Sox, including five of seven this season. "They dont beat themselves," Boston manager John Farrell said. "Typically they throw strikes, theyre not going to issue many walks. They play very sound defence and they have the ability to score a couple of runs on the swing of a bat." Will Middlebrooks hit a three-run homer for the Red Sox and Jose Iglesias stretched his hitting streak to 17 games with an eighth-inning single. Baaltimore starter Miguel Gonzalez (5-2) took a two-hitter and a 5-0 lead into the seventh.dddddddddddd He ended up allowing three runs and five hits in 6 1-3 innings to improve to 3-0 lifetime against Boston. "It was fun to watch our hitters hit, especially against Lester," Gonzalez said. "Hes been doing a great job this year and always pitched well against us." Jim Johnson worked the ninth for his AL-leading 25th save and second in the series. Lester (6-4) fell to 14-2 lifetime against the Orioles, 7-1 at Camden Yards. The right-hander struck out eight but yielded nine hits. "Theyve always been able to swing the bats, theres no question as far as coming in here and pitching against that lineup," Lester said. "Theyve always been a good offensive team." Not this good. The Orioles outscored Boston 17-12 in the series and had 14 hits, seven for extra bases, in the finale. Baltimore took control with a three-run third. After Adam Jones doubled in a run, Davis hit a drive far over the right-field wall. In the fifth, Markakis doubled and scored on a single by Machado before Davis hit a two-out RBI double for a 5-0 lead. Middlebrooks made it interesting with his ninth home run, closing the gap to 5-3 in the seventh. In the bottom half, however, Markakis doubled and scored on a single by J.J. Hardy.
